We Are Visionaries
It occurred to me there has never been a matriarchal society throughout the eons, and I understand why. Women don’t need to dominate in their quest to facilitate society, making matriarchy inconsistent with our very nature. We are the force that bears the load, from carrying…

TWENTY MINUTE STORIES & POEMS Volume lll
The powerful word, a descriptor that reveals our intention, desire, and purpose, has become my tool for self-realization and expression. I wrote this statement earlier this year and found it again while searching through my files for Twenty-Minute Stories to include in the book.…

I Won’t Go Down that Path
Last night I watched the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Michele Obama spoke most eloquently, with words describing the soul of America. She spoke about my soul, my birthright in this nation. I was impressed with every word and nuance of her speech. In these following…

I used to have a lot of rules. I needed to make love at midnight on New Year’s Eve to make sure the incoming year would be beautiful. Or, whenever my spouse and I went on a trip for either vacation or business, the sooner we made love the sooner the trip seemed to begin....…

My Gift
Tonight I started making dinner, and Norin’s not participating in an equal way, which translates to I’m doing everything. I’m feeling impatient with him, which is not my usual state in our 35 year marriage. We’re at the cabin and we stayed out on the lake later than usual, so…

A Little Nod
What is it like to be the only woman on a long range fishing boat with 33 men? I’ve been doing it for about the last 20 years. Twice a year, in fact. Sometimes I luck out, or maybe not, and there are one or two women along with me. Then I’m relying on the... Continue Reading →
