Happy 2025
2024 was a rough year. My old man got sick in the spring and died in September. My mom was left living alone with Alzheimer's, and eventually let us move her to a supportive living unit. I got fatter, anxious, and depressed, and worst of all, had to miss the #sworrytrials.…

2023 Tour de France Officialish Thread
If anyone is interested, I'll set up the fantasy pool as soon as teams are announced and will try to recruit some new people. I'm making an early prediction of the first stage for Michael Woods, because it's on Canada Day, I'm a homer, there's a Cat 2 at 30k, and a sharp Cat 3…

Anyone done a swimrun?
I'm signed up for one in August but am blissfully ignorant about them. I can swim and run, so I have that bit covered. I can drill holes in running shoes to let water out, and in a pullbuoy to put surgical tubing through it, and despite having swum for 30 years, I usually manage…

Rooster T Shirts
Hi all, Wish has a rooster shirt that I’m thinking of doing a bulk order for. It would be cool if everyone headed to Michigan had one. If there’s interest add a comment here and I’ll get sizes after. @Aaron Webstey has one for winning the swim challenge earlier this year. He’s…

Tubeless Inserts
An actual bike related question. I have a set of FLO wheels coming to complete the 12year long build on my tri bike. I heard the guys on the Trainer Road podcast talking about inserts for tubeless road tires. Anyone here have any experience with using them? Advice and ridicule…

Is Twitter dead
I'd be happy with 25% as entertaining as peak Real Starky/Dark Mark days, but I struggle to find anything of interest lately. Funny shit seems to die and random viral strangeness ends up being most of my feed. Am I doing it wrong or is it ruined? This would have been a…

Alison Jackson is my hero
That is all. First Canadian winner of Paris Roubaix. Freaking awesome couple of weeks for Canadian women in sports.

April challenge
With spring officially starting here in the northern hemisphere, we’re rapidly approaching beach season. And while my Irish/Norwegian ass will never get tan, it can stand to shrink a bit in prep for budgie smuggler afternoons (and I’m sick of struggling to run 8:30/mi pace).…

You've heard of Sworry Trials, how about Sawry Tribulations?
As part of my Impossibleman training I had planned on doing a solo Backyard Ultra on my training loop as an intermediate goal sometime in June. Then I thought maybe I would invite a friend or two to join me. Then I thought why not throw the invite out all Roosters and see who's…

Next months Challenge
Starting this as something to return to towards the end of each month to suggest/agree the next month's challenge. As I've found trying to achieve the challenge motivating [Insert Struan in motivated training shocker gag here]

Custom insoles
Anyone have experience with custom insoles for running shoes? Looking at some of these and they have to be of some value, otherwise all of these websites would be out of business.

Feb challenge anyone?
Thinking of setting some kind of time-based goal for myself in Feb. Like 30-45 mins a day of exercise or something like that. Anyone else challenging themselves this month?

Whistler
Hey Canada and others, Looking at booking a trip to Whistler and holy schnapps! It's kind of expensive. Anyone have any recommendations for stays or logistics? Any and all suggestions will be taken but only good ones will be rewarded with whiskey. -D

Guilty pleasures
As many of you know, my worst guilty pleasure is The O.C. Now I've become hooked on Dawson's Creek. So I guess teen dramas where the kids look and act like adults are my weakness. What's yours?

January Swim Challenge - 1000 m per day
Since a few of us are planning to poke the Impossibleman bear this year its time to resurrect the January Swim Challenge. Who's in? Every Sunday this month I'm going to post my planned workouts for the week in case anyone else wants to play along. These are from an Ironman…
