Blow over
I’d like to take this opportunity to say that, for any readers thinking of starting a new life on a smallholding, the chances of being set upon by a mob of farm workers are fleetingly small. 70-80%? You’ll probably be fine. Take the leap!

THOUGHT BUBBLE 2026: LAST CHANCE TO SEE
ITEM! We’re less than two weeks away from the Thought Bubble Festival 2026. It’s in Harrogate at the convention centre on November 14-15th. I’ll be there at table B24 in the 2000AD hall, between Warwick Johnson-Cadwell and Ian McQue. Yes, brewing up for star names once more.…

The work of the night
Poor Major. And poor Davy. Let’s hope that both make it through the night with however much blood they have left.

Asleep on’t job
Of late my comics have lacked for relatable characters, but not any more, for here is a sort of cross between Noseratu and Stig of the Dump. Did you ever read Stig of the Dump? That was a good one when I was a youngster. I somehow managed to read it right on the summer […]

Spitty
Esther, give that poor goat their spitty apple! This is a disgrace!

I love to draw a dry stone wall. Though really I should put my money where my mouth is and go on a dry stone walling course. Finally work out where those stones are actually meant to go.

Boo to a goose
You can read part 2 of BLIGHT in full, now, on my Patreon! Esther keeps a mental checklist of era-specific popular martial arts to ask people if they know, you know, when it all kicks off. 1975: kung fu. 1988: ninjitsu. 2001: Dance Dance Revolution. And so on.

A shared bathtime
This is quite a busy story, it’s been hard to find places to draw Nemulon at full extension. Anyway, here he is at the midpoint of this tale. The second half commences on Monday.

Strange, isn’t it?
I’ve been fascinated by pea pod wine since I watched a TV show where Giles Coren and Sue Perkins tried to live like “The Good Life” TV show. Not fascinated enough to drink it, you understand. I remember Coren saying “it’s the sort of thing you’d give to the children.” I don’t…

Hard to come by
Esther was a singular child.

Good people
I live near a smallholding and enjoy observing the animals. There used to be a rooster who had a crow like a donkey’s bray, “HEE HAWWWW” all day long, but alas he was eaten by, I believe, “some bastard fox”.
