Walking AT-AT
When LEGO set 75440 AT-AT was first announced, I new I wanted to try and make it ‘walk’, and have the snow speeder flying around it. It was a bit of a challenge at the small scale, but I did manage to get all the mechanics packed into a low profile base. Each foot is […]

Swimming Fierce Shark
Earlier this year, LEGO released a new Creator 3-in-1 shark, set 31381 Fierce Shark with a Treasure Chest, which seems to be a direct successor to the popular 31088 Deep Sea Creatures set from 2019. As soon as it was announced, I knew I had to try to make the shark swim, just…

Sugar Shack Instructions
I know it’s only October, but winter is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about dusting off our Winter Village displays. With that in mind, I finally finished the instructions for my Skating at the Sugar Shack model. I think it’s a nice companion piece to…

Dancing Happy Plants
The Happy Plants LEGO set (10349) is such a cute model that I just had to make it move in some way. I can just imagine that these two little planters would be the life of the party, and I thought it would be cool to make them ‘dance’. In the end there was just […]

Spring is in the air, Easter is around the corner, and children all around the world are patiently waiting for the Easter Bunny to deliver some eggy treats. But why wait, when you can build your own candy pooping bunny out of LEGO? LEGO recently released 31162 Cute Bunny,…

Skating at the Sugar Shack
This model celebrates two of my favorite winter activities – ice skating and visiting a sugar shack. It features a LEGO minifig skating on a pond, performing an occasional pirouette, and a fire with rotating flames to help bring the model to life. As I was working on the model,…

Hadrosaur Fossil
As part of our LEGO model of the Canadian Museum of Nature, we decided to recreate some of the interior exhibits in the museum. The fossil gallery was first on the list, and here is our recreation of one of my favourite displays in the museum, the panel mounted Edmontosaurus.…

Galloping Reindeer Update
I recently made some small updates to my galloping reindeer modification to set 40499 Santa’s Sleigh. If you are not familiar with this model, it creates a base for the set that makes the reindeer appear to gallop, and adds a slight rocking movement to the sleigh. You can see a…
