Crank-No Start (05 X5 3.0)
Crank-No Start: What to look for or text next.... 1. I have 50psi at the fuel rail when the pump primes (key on) and while cranking. 2. I have RPM registering when cranking (this may indicate whether the crank position sensor is working). 3. Battery fully charged. 4. No related…

Auto headlight light flashing green.
Today I noticed the auto light switch light blinking green. I drive left handed, so I never see the light. It was raining hard today. When I turned it on at the donut shop, I noticed the headlights didn't go up and down. Is flashing green for an adaptive headlight fault? I used…

2004 X5 6 speed manual
New to this site. I have a 2004 X5 3.0 6 speed manual that I've had for 20 years. Is there a thread for anyone out there with one of these? Hold this car, finally let it go?

Viton OFHG Source
Hi Guys. We used to be able to get Viton OFHG from Turner or ECS, I forget which. I put one in my X and will never have to touch it again. Since I am putting an "new" engine in, I wanted to replace that engine's OFHG with a Viton. Turner and ECS don't sell them anymore. I did a…

Anything I've missed? N62B48 motor refresh
Hey everybody! Just about to have a refresh done on my 2004 X5 4.8is. Have ordered a bunch of parts, think I have just about everything I need. I'm already starting to push my budget for sure, but I love this car and have no plan of getting rid of her anytime soon so I want to…

Argh! Trans Failsafe Mode. EDS3 Solenoid valve code
This is what's coming out right now. Image: https://i.postimg.cc/DfcMZGCz/20261028-093711.jpg [/url] I have doubts it's the solenoid as of yet as there are com errors too? Sometimes its in TFS, sometimes its not, which makes me wonder even more!

Seat belt buckles.
Today, I discovered all rear buckles won’t lock. The dual one was replaced shortly after purchase. One combo worked. LR belt to the middle seat buckle. I have a replacement LR buckle. I’ll install it tomorrow. Are seat buckles a common failure part?

Alternate Crankshaft/Balancer Holding Tool
Anyone come up with an alternative to the $250 to $300 tool for holding the crankshaft/balancer while tightening the jesus bolt? Came off with a high power pneumatic impact, but probably isn't going to be able to go on that way if I follow the tightening sequence,

WTF is it now...
Been running/driving fine since replacing the O2 sensors last month until the battery light came on at startup today, but it started flickering then went out after a minute or so. Same thing happened later in the day, then after a few more stops, it came on and stayed on.…

Transfer case chain
I have found an old shop with quite a few transfer case chains (new) I will try to make sure he has some for the e53 crowd and the cost. I believe that my pilot buddy would be willing to mail them from the his hotel in the states while TDY (several times a year) but no clue as…

4x4 light/warning
My E53 x5 with M54 3.0 (gas) was randomly blowing smoke (not all the time but when it did, it was thick and smelled bad; at least I assume so since all the people behind me in traffic were holding their noses and pointing at my tailpipe) I replaced the CCV, mostly following this…

Today's Door Problems- Actuator, DHC and Cable
Fall is here in VT, and we had our first frost today. My wife yanked the door handle first thing and it reacted by throwing in the towel. I can't really complain, it's the original from 2004. I have no questions about the DHC, but in my haste to pull the door panel while it was…

EVAP Purge Valve?
I have a weird issue where after I drive my car to work, and it sits there in the sun, at noon when I go to lunch the engine will take 8 or 9 revs to start. I have had a cold start issue in the past when it is sub freezing that may be related. don’t know. replaced the fuel pump…

O2 sensors
It's been probably over a year since the "scare me" Halloween light came on. It's a lot cooler now. It was a cold start on a warm afternoon. Would old O2 sensors cause codes 0000F5 and 0000F6? A full scan is attached. I went through three secondary air pumps. The third, a Hella,…

"New" Engine for My 3.0 X
Its been a bit of a saga since I decided to do a swap for newer used engine for my X. It has almost 300,000 miles on it and has been running rough. Compression testing and leak down test revealed a blown head gasket between number 1 and 2 cylinders. It hasn't broken through to…
